Wood Elves Wildwood Rangers

I have finally finished the first batch (11) of my Wood Elves Wildwood Rangers of the Cherry Blossom Grove . Although they are fun models to paint, a unit of 30 models is always a pain, especially when you need to hurry because of coming tournaments.

Wood Elves Warhawk Riders conversion

Hi all, today I present you my Wood Elves Warhawk Riders. The old metal Games Workshop miniatures have never been my favourites. Therefore I made some conversions. It was really difficult to position the models next to each other, these eagle wings are enormous! Hope you like them.

Wood Elves Glade Lord finished

Just finished a mounted Wood Elves Glade Lord. Hope you like it!

Project Update - Things to come...

Hi all, there´s only a quick update on the coming projects on GOLDMUNDS WELT.  Because I more and more enjoy the fluffy side of Warhammer Fantasy these days (End Times, Storm of Magic, Montrous Arcanum) and also like to experiment a lot with new Basedesigns, I´m going to start a heck of new projects the coming weeks/months: Also the pic is some weeks old and some of the miniatures already have seen colour, it will give you a good overview of what to come. After watching Painting Buddahs  DVD-Tutorial  about creating Bases (Season 1.3 - Base Alchemy 1: Earth mit Ben Komets und Matt Cexwish) I tried to create something challenging on my own and came up with this: It´s the Curs´d Ettin from Warhammer Forge. The Idea behind building this scenary base: The Ettin stalks the deep forest for prey. Suddenly he picks up the scent of Elf Flesh and the hunt begins. After nearly an hour of chasing, the prey - a wardancer of Athel Loren - founds himself un...

Wood Elves Waywatchers and Waystalkers (Conversion)

In the new Warhammer Wood Elves book, there are several units which are, in my humble opinion, a must-have in every Wood Elves army, in terms of Fluff as well in terms of options and playing strength. One of these units is the Forest Stalkers of Athel Loren, the Waywatchers. The Waywatcher selection is perhaps the best thing in the Wood Elf army book, head-to-head with the Wild Riders. They are silent sentinels, forest stalkers, hidden assassins that annihilate enemies of Athel Loren without mercy. They are guardians of the pathways which lead to and traverse the forest and are able to hide for days on end before springing into action to slay a startled foe.

Wood Elves Glade Lord on Forest Dragon finished

It´s been a while since my last post but I haven´t been lazy and finished some projects. Unfortunately, I wasn´t able to take appropriate pictures because my photo backgrounds clashed with a cup of coffee and couldn´t be used afterwards. Up to this time, I used the nice photo backgrounds from Massive Vodoo .

Wood Elves Dragon - Work in Progress

Hi folks, right now I´m painting my Wood Elves Dragon and show you some work in progress pics. The model is from Warhammer Forge . I fell in love with this model on first sight and had to use it! Hope you like it so far. There are going to be more contrast on the colours and the rider is going to be the new Wood Elves Lord plastik kit . Really looking forward to paint and finish him soon.

Wood Elves Spellweaver - The Darkling One

The second Spellweaver on horse made it into my Wood Elves army. He is a conversion of an old model of the Wild Hunt. I painted the horse black to create some contrast to the light colours and also because he is mainly using Dark Magic and Shadow Magic. Hope you like him. Cheers, Goldmund

Warhammer Wood Elves Army

Hi guys, no update on stuff I´m working on right now, but I wanna show you some more miniatures of my Wood Elves army: The Cherry Blossom Grove. Cheerio!

Wood Elves Spellweaver / Spellsinger

Hi there, today I present my newly finished mounted Spellweaver / Spellsinger for my Wood Elves. It is a conversion from the original Spellweaver model from GW on foot and a horse of the Glade Riders, who was added a twisted horn and some hair on the feet to look like a unicorn. Hope you like it!

Wood Elves Sisters of Thorn

As for today I give you a quick update on the the Sisters of Thorn, the new unit of the Wood Elves Release. I really like the models except one thing: the awkwardly looking antlers of the mounts that look like helmet ( check it out ).  Because of that I decided to convert the antlers to a more realistic way and oriented myself to the following picture. Here´s the outcome of the conversion.   Thoughts for the painting scheme: First I have been torn between a mono white and a mono brown colour scheme. Then I found both kind of boring and also the white scheme not fitting because the mounted Characters who will join the unit also have white mounts. That´s why I took again inspiration on nature and tend to the following color scheme. It´s far from boring and will bring some new pattern to my army which I love! Also it  is going to be more complex to paint, I´m looking forward to it.

Wood Elves Release!

A long time went by, it felt like a century, but time of waiting has come to an end – after 9 years Games Workshop released the new Wood Elves army book and some new kits/units. With this release of course the Cherry Blossom Grove will be extended. I can´t wait to assamble and paint the new units and command them on the battlefield. As for the start I ordered the new book, magic cards, three boxes of Wildwood Rangers, two boxes of Sisters of Thorn and a Lord of the Wood Elves called Araloth. The Wildwood Rangers are the models I have been looking for a long time. They perfectly fill in the roll of beeing the multi-unit with the two-handed sword of the Cherry Blossom Grove: for the Wood Elves I ´m obviously play them as Wildwood Rangers and for the High Elves they are played as White Lions. The regiment base are completed with lots of forest bases of Microart-Studio including two 40mm mulitbases which I like very much because they bring so much more "Forestfeeling" ...

Wood Elves / High Elves - The Cherry Blossom Grove

Introduction: The Cherry Blossom Grove "Athel Loren is the oldest Forest in the Old World. It is a magical, but dark and haunted place where malicious spirits roam through the twisted undergrowth and tiny darting shapes flit between the trees on the edge of vision. But Athel Loren has plenty of facets. There is also a bright, beautiful side of hidden places of unseen beauty with places no mortal has ever encountered and places of unimaginable elegancy: The Cherry Blossom Grove." In my Wood Elves army project I tried to reflect this kind of natural beauty. The blossoming life of Athel Loren with all its natural grace has been the main idea in creating this army. The Cherry Blossom Grove grew constantly till nearly all units in the old Wood Elves army book were assembled and painted, all tactics and list were played and tried out... but no new Wood Elves army book was to be seen. So I decided to expand the army.Expand it in a way it would be possible to play the army with ...
