Hi fellow Nerds, as Mantic´s Kings of War brings loads of new opportunities for my undead army, I checked my Bitzbox and found an interesting piece of the Games Workshop Vampire Counts Mortarch Kit : Arkhan the Black. From the kit, I´ve only used Manfred von Carstein so far as my Vampire on a dragon.

After a long break from the hobby, mainly because Games Workshop killed Warhammer Fantasy and took any motivation away from me to paint or even get some games in, I finally went back to some painting. What brought me back and has been my personal light at the end of the tunnel, was Mantics Kings of War 2nd Edition ! What a great game, it is not just an alternative to Warhammer, it´s even better!

For a coming tournament, I speed-painted these Skin Wolves from Forgeworld which I´m gonna use as Morghast Harbingers.

I just finished the Repaint of my Vampire Counts Varghulf. I decided to repaint it because the paint job was hardly damaged after several years of Wargaming and it wasn´t really that well :)

I have finally finished the first batch (11) of my Wood Elves Wildwood Rangers of the Cherry Blossom Grove . Although they are fun models to paint, a unit of 30 models is always a pain, especially when you need to hurry because of coming tournaments.

I've always wanted to start a Warhammer Fantasy Empire army! Due to the tactical depth of the army, the flexibility on the battlefield and the possible list diversity, as well as the background, has been fascinating me. However, I could never struggle through an imperial army from scratch, especially because many of the units visually didn`t appeal to me (especially the state troops) and I - like most hobbyists – were working on several other projects, therefore time has been short.

Hi all, today I present you my Wood Elves Warhawk Riders. The old metal Games Workshop miniatures have never been my favourites. Therefore I made some conversions. It was really difficult to position the models next to each other, these eagle wings are enormous! Hope you like them.

Hi all, there´s only a quick update on the coming projects on GOLDMUNDS WELT.  Because I more and more enjoy the fluffy side of Warhammer Fantasy these days (End Times, Storm of Magic, Montrous Arcanum) and also like to experiment a lot with new Basedesigns, I´m going to start a heck of new projects the coming weeks/months: Also the pic is some weeks old and some of the miniatures already have seen colour, it will give you a good overview of what to come. After watching Painting Buddahs  DVD-Tutorial  about creating Bases (Season 1.3 - Base Alchemy 1: Earth mit Ben Komets und Matt Cexwish) I tried to create something challenging on my own and came up with this: It´s the Curs´d Ettin from Warhammer Forge. The Idea behind building this scenary base: The Ettin stalks the deep forest for prey. Suddenly he picks up the scent of Elf Flesh and the hunt begins. In the new Warhammer Wood Elves book, there are several units which are, in my humble opinion, a must-have in every Wood Elves army, in terms of Fluff as well in terms of options and playing strength. One of these units is the Forest Stalkers of Athel Loren, the Waywatchers. The Waywatcher selection is perhaps the best thing in the Wood Elf army book, head-to-head with the Wild Riders. They are silent sentinels, forest stalkers, hidden assassins that annihilate enemies of Athel Loren without mercy. They are guardians of the pathways which lead to and traverse the forest and are able to hide for days on end before springing into action to slay a startled foe.

It´s been a while since my last post but I haven´t been lazy and finished some projects. Unfortunately, I wasn´t able to take appropriate pictures because my photo backgrounds clashed with a cup of coffee and couldn´t be used afterwards. Up to this time, I used the nice photo backgrounds from Massive Vodoo .

I´d like to present to you my Warhammer Vampire Counts army. It is the first army I painted and also the reason why I started the hobby: Warhammer Fantasy. The Vampire counts project found it´s beginning in June 2010. It nearly includes all possible units of the army book, but for this presentation, I first show you the units which stay the same and won´t get a repaint soon - means, the units I´m ok with regarding the painting quality.

Hi folks, right now I´m painting my Wood Elves Dragon and show you some work in progress pics. The model is from Warhammer Forge . I fell in love with this model on first sight and had to use it! Hope you like it so far. There are going to be more contrast on the colours and the rider is going to be the new Wood Elves Lord plastik kit . Really looking forward to paint and finish him soon.

The second Spellweaver on horse made it into my Wood Elves army. He is a conversion of an old model of the Wild Hunt. I painted the horse black to create some contrast to the light colours and also because he is mainly using Dark Magic and Shadow Magic. Hope you like him. Cheers, Goldmund

Hi Volks, today I present to you a miniature I painted at a two day painting session at the workshop of Simon Elsen (Katan) from 5th Dimension in Trier/Germany. Michael from 5th Dimension accompanied Simon for support. The workshop-miniature, a Warhammer Warriors of Chaos Sorcerer Lord , was an impressive model to paint and I loved it at first sight. The main topic at the workshop was the Wet-in-Wet technique which I think is a very useful and efficient way of painting high-quality miniatures. Beside Wet-in-Wet we looked at topics such as Wood, TMM Silver and Gold, leather, Flesh and other topics such as effects, OSL, blood, dirt, battle damage, freehands etc. It has also been my first experience with water effects.
