The Sylvaneth of the Cherry Blossom Grove

The Sylvaneth of the Cherry Blossom Grove – A Growing Force The Sylvaneth of the Cherry Blossom Grove are marching to war! Recently, I completed three towering tree spirits —a Treeman Ancient, an ordinary Treeman, and the Spirit of Durthu —bringing my army close to completion. This army has deep roots, dating back to the Old Days of Warhammer , when it was primarily made up of Wood Elves . (Check out my [2014 blog post] for the original army!) Over the years, I have expanded and refined the Cherry Blossom Grove, adding numerous new miniatures while staying true to its original theme. And the journey is far from over! In the coming months and years, I plan to continue expanding the Cherry Blossom Grove , with some exciting additions on the horizon. Alarielle, the Everqueen , will take her rightful place at the heart of the force, and more Kurnoth Hunters will reinforce the ranks. I’m also considering a Living City detachment from the Cities of Sigmar Battletome , blending Sylvane...

Dwarf Slayers vs. angry Giant!

"I am a Dwarf! My honor is my life and without it I am nothing. I shall become a Slayer. ... A Dwarf Slayer is the ultimate Dwarf warrior, the perfect personification of death and destruction, and bringer of doom to the enemies of their race." These awesome slayers are from the Spanish miniature company Yedharo Models . I also really like their orc minis. The big guy is called Mjagnir Jötunn and is produced by Mierce Miniatures . I already did a review of their high-quality miniatures.

Wolves for Legions of Nagash!

Reinforcements for my Warhammer Legions of Nagash army. I painted the fourth of the Forgeworld Skin Wolves to play them as Morghast Archai. And if this weren't enough wolves, I also finished 10 Dire Wolves from Games Workshop - all bloody, dirty and murderous! Hope you like them.

Rebasing square to round bases tutorial

In 2015 when Warhammer Fantasy was replaced with the first edition of Age of Sigmar, Games Workshop decided not only to change the ruleset and the narrative of the game, they also changed the base-size of their Fantasy miniature range from square to round bases. All these changes had a big impact on my tabletop hobby. I have been pretty disappointed in the ruleset and was not willing to continue playing Warhammer and turned my back on it. This change honestly hit me quite hard but in retrospective, it brought new chances. I dived into Infinity the game , Malifaux , Kings of War , Boardgames, The Walking Dead and more. This led me to embrace all the variety and opportunities the tabletop world had to offer. The coming years after the initial launch of Age of Sigmar I watched with interest at the products Games workshop published as well as the overall development of the company. 2018/19 I noticed the change of GW's marketing activities and with the launch of the second edition of...

Undead Cursed Pharaoh - Kings of War

Hi fellow Nerds, as Mantic´s Kings of War brings loads of new opportunities for my undead army, I checked my Bitzbox and found an interesting piece of the Games Workshop Vampire Counts Mortarch Kit : Arkhan the Black. From the kit, I´ve only used Manfred von Carstein so far as my Vampire on a dragon.

Vampire Counts Blood Knights - Kings of War!

After a long break from the hobby, mainly because Games Workshop killed Warhammer Fantasy and took any motivation away from me to paint or even get some games in, I finally went back to some painting. What brought me back and has been my personal light at the end of the tunnel, was Mantics Kings of War 2nd Edition ! What a great game, it is not just an alternative to Warhammer, it´s even better!

Vampire Counts Morghast Harbingers aka Skin Wolves from Forgeworld

For a coming tournament, I speed-painted these Skin Wolves from Forgeworld which I´m gonna use as Morghast Harbingers.

Vampire Counts Varghulf - Repaint

I just finished the Repaint of my Vampire Counts Varghulf. I decided to repaint it because the paint job was hardly damaged after several years of Wargaming and it wasn´t really that well :)

Mourngul - quick & dirty!

Hi there, just finished my Mourngul from Forgeworld . I´m going to play it in my Warhammer Fantasy Vampire Counts army. Tried to paint him like the nightmare it is - bloody, dark and dirty. Hope you like it!

Wood Elves Wildwood Rangers

I have finally finished the first batch (11) of my Wood Elves Wildwood Rangers of the Cherry Blossom Grove . Although they are fun models to paint, a unit of 30 models is always a pain, especially when you need to hurry because of coming tournaments.

Warhammer Fantasy Empire army from Perry Miniatures

I've always wanted to start a Warhammer Fantasy Empire army! Due to the tactical depth of the army, the flexibility on the battlefield and the possible list diversity, as well as the background, has been fascinating me. However, I could never struggle through an imperial army from scratch, especially because many of the units visually didn`t appeal to me (especially the state troops) and I - like most hobbyists – were working on several other projects, therefore time has been short.

Vampire Counts Black Knights and Zombie Dragon / Dread Abyssal WIP

Hi all, some Black Knights joined the Klingenberg Legion . I first time tried pigments and used them very chaotically :)

Vampire Counts Fell Bats - Alternative Models

Hi all, just finished four Vampire Counts Fell Bats . Love these undead flying beasts! Tried to make them kind of scary.

Fimir Warriors from Warhammer Forge

Today there will be some one-eyed action! The Fimir Warriors from the dark and cruel past once again walk amongst us!

Wood Elves Warhawk Riders conversion

Hi all, today I present you my Wood Elves Warhawk Riders. The old metal Games Workshop miniatures have never been my favourites. Therefore I made some conversions. It was really difficult to position the models next to each other, these eagle wings are enormous! Hope you like them.

Wood Elves Glade Lord finished

Just finished a mounted Wood Elves Glade Lord. Hope you like it!

Project Update - Things to come...

Hi all, there´s only a quick update on the coming projects on GOLDMUNDS WELT.  Because I more and more enjoy the fluffy side of Warhammer Fantasy these days (End Times, Storm of Magic, Montrous Arcanum) and also like to experiment a lot with new Basedesigns, I´m going to start a heck of new projects the coming weeks/months: Also the pic is some weeks old and some of the miniatures already have seen colour, it will give you a good overview of what to come. After watching Painting Buddahs  DVD-Tutorial  about creating Bases (Season 1.3 - Base Alchemy 1: Earth mit Ben Komets und Matt Cexwish) I tried to create something challenging on my own and came up with this: It´s the Curs´d Ettin from Warhammer Forge. The Idea behind building this scenary base: The Ettin stalks the deep forest for prey. Suddenly he picks up the scent of Elf Flesh and the hunt begins. After nearly an hour of chasing, the prey - a wardancer of Athel Loren - founds himself un...

Wood Elves Waywatchers and Waystalkers (Conversion)

In the new Warhammer Wood Elves book, there are several units which are, in my humble opinion, a must-have in every Wood Elves army, in terms of Fluff as well in terms of options and playing strength. One of these units is the Forest Stalkers of Athel Loren, the Waywatchers. The Waywatcher selection is perhaps the best thing in the Wood Elf army book, head-to-head with the Wild Riders. They are silent sentinels, forest stalkers, hidden assassins that annihilate enemies of Athel Loren without mercy. They are guardians of the pathways which lead to and traverse the forest and are able to hide for days on end before springing into action to slay a startled foe.

Wood Elves Glade Lord on Forest Dragon finished

It´s been a while since my last post but I haven´t been lazy and finished some projects. Unfortunately, I wasn´t able to take appropriate pictures because my photo backgrounds clashed with a cup of coffee and couldn´t be used afterwards. Up to this time, I used the nice photo backgrounds from Massive Vodoo .

Vampire Counts / Undead army

I´d like to present to you my Warhammer Vampire Counts army. It is the first army I painted and also the reason why I started the hobby: Warhammer Fantasy. The Vampire counts project found it´s beginning in June 2010. It nearly includes all possible units of the army book, but for this presentation, I first show you the units which stay the same and won´t get a repaint soon - means, the units I´m ok with regarding the painting quality.
