Showcasing My Soulblight Gravelords Army on my New Fantasy Terrain Board

My Soulblight Gravelords on New Fantasy Terrain The undead legions rise once more! My Soulblight Gravelords   - The Klingenberg Legion - army has been a staple of my collection for quite some time, but with the recent completion of my new fantasy terrain board, I finally had the perfect setting to showcase them. Seeing these battle-worn warriors placed in a cinematic environment truly brings them to life (or rather, un-life). An Old Army in a Fresh Setting The Soulblight Gravelords have long been one of my favorite armies, painted and refined over time. With the newly built fantasy terrain, my army finally has a backdrop that complements its dark aesthetic. Ancient ruins, bones and twisted forests set the stage for these cursed warriors, enhancing their sinister presence in front of my camera. A Glimpse at the Army - Photo Showcase Expanding the Dead Though my Soulblight Gravelords army has already been a long-term project, I’m planning to expand and refine it further in 2025 by ...

A Sylvaneth Realm Comes to Life – My New Age of Sigmar Fantasy Terrain

My Warhammer Age of Sigmar Fantasy terrain  - the Realm of Ghyran After months of crafting, painting, and assembling, my latest Fantasy Terrain project is finally complete! This new battlefield is a lush and immersive realm, perfect for my Sylvaneth army, The Cherry Blossom Grove , in Warhammer Age of Sigmar . Creating this terrain has been a labor of love. I focused on overgrown ruins, towering trees, mystical terrain, and intricate pathways to bring the magic of the Sylvaneth to life. No it feels like stepping into the enchanted wilds of Ghyran itself. I took the opportunity to do a Sylvaneth photo shoot, capturing the cherry blossom grove in its natural habitat. The terrain provided the perfect backdrop. Here are some of my favorite shots from the session:  And some pics without minis: And finally some action shots and epic fights:  Let me know what you think in the comments! Happy wargaming!

A Year in Review: My Hobby Accomplishments in 2024

As 2024 draws to a close, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the progress I’ve made in my hobby journey this year. From painting miniatures to tackling big projects, it’s been a year filled with creativity, challenges, and growth. Let’s dive into my achievements for the year, from the miniatures I’ve painted to the books I've devoured, and the massive terrain project I’ve been working on. My Yearly Miniature Painting Statistics Here’s a quick look at my overall painting stats for the past few years: 2024 has truly been a productive year compared to previous 2 years, with a solid jump in painted miniatures. I’ve focused heavily on both my Tyranids and Adeptus Custodes this year. Army Breakdown Tyranids: 34 Models Tyranids have a special place in my hobby journey, as they were my very first Warhammer 40k army. I’ve been painting them for over three years now, and while they continue to grow, they seem to never end! The release of 10th edition of Warhammer 40k earlier this ...

Adeptus Custodes in True Scale – My New Warhammer 40K Army

After several months of dedicated work, my new Warhammer 40K Adeptus Custodes army is finally coming together! True Scale Adeptus Custodes – A Necessary Conversion A significant part of this project involved converting all Custodes models to True Scale, making them a head taller than a Space Marine. One issue I’ve always had with the standard models is their size—far too small! According to the lore, Adeptus Custodes are taller than Space Marines and much larger than normal humans. However, the official Games Workshop miniatures don’t reflect this, especially due to their short legs. To fix this, I decided to scale my Custodes properly by lengthening each model: 3mm between foot and knee 2-3mm between knee and hip Total height increase: 5-6mm Now, they truly look like the towering golden warriors they are meant to be! Painting the Adeptus Custodes – The Power of Gold I had an absolute blast painting this elite force, especially using the Gold Pigment from Greenstuffworld. The metallic...

My Journey Through the Horus Heresy – Painting, Reading, and Exploring Warhammer 30k and 40K

Painting the Horus Heresy Diorama – A Legendary Showdown Today, I'm thrilled to share a monumental project that merges both passions: the painting of the iconic Horus Heresy diorama, capturing the climactic showdown between the Emperor of Mankind and his traitorous Warmaster, Horus Lupercal. Additionally, I'll reflect on my three-year odyssey through the 66-book Horus Heresy series, and outline my reading journey as I venture deeper into the Warhammer 40K timeline. The Artistic Challenge – Bringing the Emperor vs. Horus to Life The Horus Heresy is one of the most pivotal and dramatic moments in Warhammer lore. It culminates in the final battle aboard the Vengeful Spirit, where the Emperor confronts Horus in a desperate bid to save humanity. This diorama, inspired by Adrian Smith’s haunting black-and-white artwork, captures that intense moment when Sanguinius, the noble Primarch of the Blood Angels, lies slain at their feet. Taking on this diorama was both a dream and a challeng...
