The Klingenberg Legion: A Journey Complete (For Now)

It has been a long journey, but the ranks of the undead are finally full. While my updates on Goldmundswelt have been a slow burn over the years, my dedication to the Klingenberg Legion never wavered. Today, I am incredibly proud to share the final results of this Soulblight Gravelords army project.

With these new models integrated into the ranks, I can finally say: The army is finished (at least until Games Workshop releases something I can’t resist).

From Hero of Ghyran to Lord of Darkness

The story of this army is inextricably linked to its master, Valentin von Klingenberg. Once a symbol of courage in the Jade Kingdom of Verdia, Valentin returned from his campaigns against the undead changed. The noble knight who once protected the floating islands of Ghyran died in the shadows of Dol Avar, only to be reborn as a prince of ruin.

Today, the Klingenberg, once a place of knightly tournaments and honor, is a bastion of necrosis. The very land around the mountain withers, and the flora of Ghyran turns to ash in the legion's wake.

The Legion in its Full Glory

After months of painting, I finally sat down to capture the entire legion on camera. There is a unique satisfaction in seeing years of work come together in a single, cohesive force:

A Finished Chapter

For now, the brush is laid to rest. This army represents years of hobbying, lore-building, and painting. Looking at these photos, I’m reminded of why I love this hobby. It’s about the patience, the steady progress over years, and the story that a finished army tells. Thank you for following along with this project on my blog; your interest and support have been a great source of motivation.

I'll leave you with the words Valentin spoke to his bride, Catherine, upon his grim return to the castle, a quote that defines the soul of this legion:

"When I returned home, the smell of the grave still lingered in my hair. But I was not defeated. I was reborn."

The Sylvaneth of the Cherry Blossom Grove

The Sylvaneth of the Cherry Blossom Grove – A Growing Force The Sylvaneth of the Cherry Blossom Grove are marching to war! Recently, I completed three towering tree spirits —a Treeman Ancient, an ordinary Treeman, and the Spirit of Durthu —bringing my army close to completion. This army has deep roots, dating back to the Old Days of Warhammer , when it was primarily made up of Wood Elves . (Check out my [2014 blog post] for the original army!) Over the years, I have expanded and refined the Cherry Blossom Grove, adding numerous new miniatures while staying true to its original theme. And the journey is far from over! In the coming months and years, I plan to continue expanding the Cherry Blossom Grove , with some exciting additions on the horizon. Alarielle, the Everqueen , will take her rightful place at the heart of the force, and more Kurnoth Hunters will reinforce the ranks. I’m also considering a Living City detachment from the Cities of Sigmar Battletome , blending Sylvane...

A Sylvaneth Realm Comes to Life – My New Age of Sigmar Fantasy Terrain

My Warhammer Age of Sigmar Fantasy terrain  - the Realm of Ghyran After months of crafting, painting, and assembling, my latest Fantasy Terrain project is finally complete! This new battlefield is a lush and immersive realm, perfect for my Sylvaneth army, The Cherry Blossom Grove , in Warhammer Age of Sigmar . Creating this terrain has been a labor of love. I focused on overgrown ruins, towering trees, mystical terrain, and intricate pathways to bring the magic of the Sylvaneth to life. No it feels like stepping into the enchanted wilds of Ghyran itself. I took the opportunity to do a Sylvaneth photo shoot, capturing the cherry blossom grove in its natural habitat. The terrain provided the perfect backdrop. Here are some of my favorite shots from the session:  And some pics without minis: And finally some action shots and epic fights:  Let me know what you think in the comments! Happy wargaming!
